Background

Sunny wanted to catch Bowie completely off guard. Not a hint, not a suspicion, nothing, right up until the second he got down on one knee. So he reached out to a proposal planner in Bali with one clear wish: a surprise beach proposal in Bali that Bowie would never see coming, hidden inside an evening that looked, at first, like nothing more than a lovely dinner by the sea.

The Vision

The whole idea lived or died on the surprise. Sunny didn't want a setup she could spot from across the beach, he wanted her genuinely in the dark until the last possible moment. So together we built a little story around the night. To Bowie, it would simply be a romantic dinner on the sand. What she wouldn't know was that everything after dessert, the fire show, the couple photos, the flames spelling out a question, the fireworks, had been planned down to the second, just for her.

What We Created

We set the evening in motion with an intimate candlelit dinner for two, a draped beach cabana, soft lighting, and the sound of the waves in the dark. Once they'd settled in, our team stepped over with the cover story: the venue was hoping to promote its fire shows, and would the couple mind watching a performance and letting us take a few photos for the portfolio? Of course they said yes. What started as a casual little couple shoot slowly turned into something bigger, a full fire show on the beach, dancers spinning flames against the night, building and building until the fire spelled out the words "Will U Marry Me" across the sand. And the moment she said yes, the sky above the ocean erupted into a full fireworks display.

The Moment

Bowie thought she was posing for a few fun photos. The fire dancers performed, the sparks flew, and then the letters ignited one by one, "Will U Marry Me" glowing across the beach in front of her. That's when it clicked. Sunny dropped to one knee on the sand, and before she could even catch her breath, she was saying yes, laughing and crying at the same time. As they kissed, fireworks lit up the whole sky over the water, and the "regular dinner" she'd been promised turned into the night she'll never forget.

The Result
