Harper & Vick

Background

Vick wanted the sky to be doing something dramatic the moment he asked. A clifftop over the ocean, timed so the sun was on its way down, was the plan from the start. He brought the idea to us with a clear picture in mind: soft pink roses, candlelight, and Harper walking out to a view that stretched all the way to the horizon.

The Vision

Where a lot of proposals go bold and red, Vick leaned soft. He wanted blush and rose pink flowers spilling across the cliff, a colour palette that felt tender rather than loud, warmed by hundreds of candles as the light faded. One deep red rose bouquet in the middle would be the single bold note. Romantic, a little dreamy, and set against nothing but sea and sky.

What We Created

On a private clifftop we built a soft pink floral setup right at the edge, blush blooms and candles tracing a path to the point where the land dropped away to the ocean. A heart of red roses waited as Harper's bouquet, a striking contrast to all the pink. As the sun sank, the candles took over and the whole setup glowed against a sky turning from gold to deep violet. Nearby, a natural rock arch framed the sea, ready for the quieter photographs once the yes was said.

The Moment

Harper came out onto the cliff to find the pink setup glowing and the ocean wide open beyond it. Vick got down on one knee at the flowers and asked. She said yes with the sun low on the water, and they lingered as the colours changed, kissing in the frame of a rock arch, silhouetted against the last of the light, wrapped up in each other while the candles burned down around them.

The Result

Vick and Harper's cliff proposal in Bali was proof that soft and dramatic can live in the same moment. A tender pink setup on the edge of a cliff, one bold red bouquet, and a sunset that turned the whole sky into a backdrop. A marriage proposal in Bali as romantic as it was breathtaking.
